An open letter to Sidney's Services' customers

Dear Valued Customer,

 

Since establishing Sidney’s Services Unlimited/SSU Corporation in 1980, I have had the most wonderful privilege to meet and work with literally thousands of clients.  While I knew I was embarking on a career that would be fulfilling and gratifying from a work standpoint way back when, I did not fully appreciate the incredible relationships that would be formed with my customers.  When I look back and take stock of what has transpired over the many decades, the thing that stands out the most are the people I encountered along the way and the many friendships that were born out of these interactions.  So, it is with a very heavy heart that I am announcing that the firm will be closing its doors and winding down business effective February 1, 2025.

 

This decision has not been made in haste and not without a lot of soul searching; our internal team has been talking about it for many, many months.  However, it has been easier said than done to pull the trigger and commit to closing things up for good.  It’s been emotional and full of great sadness.  That said, it is clear it is time to move on with the next chapter  Many of us who are SSU lifers are getting a bit long in the tooth and want to spend more time with grandchildren, travel, and try our hand at other things that have been put off for way too long.

 

The most important thing we have worked on over the past year or so was making sure we would not leave our clients in the lurch when we shut our doors.  Continuity was of the utmost importance; a smooth transition was critical.  Accordingly, I am most pleased to announce that while the name on the top of the bills may change, the folks running and managing our service operations will not.  The men and women who work in the field in your homes and businesses will remain providing exceptional care and attention to detail.

 

The relationships that I have forged with our associates listed below has stood the test of time.  For over 20 years we have worked together on your job and others, building a formidable residential and commercial services business.  It has been a pleasure working with them and the teams they have assembled, serving hundreds throughout the greater Chicagoland area over the past few decades.  I am most pleased to be passing the torch over to those who cares about our customers as much as I do.  They will make sure this transition is seamless. 

 

I also wanted to take a moment and thank my right hand man Dave Munson for his many, many years of incredible hard work and support. Dave has really been my most trusted confidant and has helped me like no other for decades. There would be no SSU without Dave.

Thank you all for the trust and confidence you have bestowed upon me and my many dedicated associates over the years.  It has been an honor to be of service.
